Scientific partnerships
The Amadeus Institute proposes scientific partnerships with universities, research centers and think tanks in Morocco and internationally in order to initiate projects on issues linked to our key thematic axes:
- Middle Class and Social Mobility
- Conflict prevention and security
- Governance and Citizenship
- Economic growth and regional integration
- Co-development and North-South cooperation
- Sustainable development and energy efficiency
In its activities, the Institute collaborated with renowned academic institutions and think tanks.
- CESEM, (Center for Social, Economic and Managerial Studies), is HEM research center. The CESEM is the Institute’s main scientific partner in Morocco. Led by Driss Ksikès, the CESEM publishes “la revue Economia”.
- IEMED. The Barcelona-based Institute was founded 15 years ago coinciding with the launch of the Barcelona process. It supported the birth of the Amadeus Institute and its director Senen Florensa is a regular guest participating in the Amadeus Institute forums.
- Chatham House is a partner regarding among other security issues. During the MEDays 2009, the plenary session on global security issues in the Western side of the Mediterranean was organized in partnership with this British think tank.
The Institute also nurtures exchanges with institutions in the United States including:
- The Atlantic Council
- The Middle East Institute
It also collaborates with regional et international intergovernmental organizations.
- The Union for the Mediterranean (UPM): The Amadeus Institute has worked on the issue of Mediterranean cooperation and particularly the UpM since its inception. The Institute was among other institutions a partner at their Forum in Marseille on 27-29 May 2010, organized by the UPM French-Egyptian co-presidency.
- The United Nations: The Amadeus Institute participated in the comprehensive review on the 1998 Report on causes of conflicts in Africa addressed to the UN Secretary General. The first meeting took place on the 10th and 11th June in Nairobi.
