MEDays Annual Report: Review and proposals
The 2009 MEDays was a real success in terms of the topics treated, participants’ expertise and debates.
The report includes a review of the 2009 MEDays debates, proposals and recommendations made by policy makers and experts who attended the second edition of MEDays, the Southern Forum. They are contextualized by the Amadeus Institute’s CAP, or Centre of Analysis and Publications. This annual review serves as a road map for policy makers from both the North and South.
The 2009 MEDays recommendations sparked wide interest among policy makers from the North and South, along with the international press. The proposals permit the exploration of new prospects on priority issues in Southern countries while leaving room for questions to be raised in the next Forum edition.
The four main themes discussed are:
- Conflict Prevention and Security
- Economic growth, regional integration and human development
- Tools for cooperation in the Mediterranean
- Renewable energies and the Environment
Building on the MEDays local and international success, the Amadeus Institute team is preparing a third edition which will be richer in content and perspective, and will be held in Tangier from November 10- 13, 2010.
